Westlife set to dazzle Deuriemikke Festival

The fifth Jacaranda 94.2 Deuriemikke Karnaval in association with kykNET returns to SuperSport Park Centurion on Saturday 17 September.

It’s an occasion well established as a celebration of conviviality and good vibrations. This time Irish Pop sensation, Westlife, headlines the annual music extravaganza and if band member Markus Feehily's recent Tweet; “South Africa we are coming in September baby!” is anything to go by, this festive gathering will be just the thing to ring in Spring.

Pop fans can expect to keep dancing throughout performances by Steve Hofmeyr, Jakkie Louw, Lianie May as well as a special appearance by the 2011 Idols Top 4, while Rock lovers can look forward to Karen Zoid, Watershed and 2010 Idols winner Elvis Blue. Newcomers The Green Apple Project round off the local flavour.

Feel at home on the festival grounds offering a bar, plenty to eat from the food stalls, and since this is a family affair, also boasts a kid's play area with fun games, jumping castles and characters from their favourite TV programmes.

Haddad Viljoen, marketing and publicity manager for kykNET says: "It will be a fantastic day for the whole family. Deuriemikke is where you will want to be!"

Jacaranda 94.2 will once again broadcast from the festival grounds.

Please bring along blankets to enjoy the show in comfort as all seating is unreserved anywhere on the field, embankment or pavilion.

This year picnic baskets as well as chairs will ONLY be allowed on the grass embankment area around the field. Chairs will also be available for rent, but there is a NO CHAIRS AREA directly in front of the stage to afford everyone the opportunity to experience the artistes.

Please note that the following may NOT be brought into the venue: Glass; tin cans or metal cutlery (please use plastic instead); sharp objects; liquor from outside; umbrellas; gazebos and gas braais.

The gates open at 12:00 and the festivities kick off at 13:00.
