Westlife star Nicky Byrne will host and narrate The Snowman with live music from the Irish Philharmonic Orchestra at special screening concerts next month.
The screenings of the Raymond Briggs classic with live score will take place at the University Concert Hall, Limerick on Friday December 2 (7:30pm) and Dublin's Grand Canal Theatre on Sunday 4 and Sunday 11 December (11:30am, 2pm and 4pm).
Commenting, Byrne said: "I am really delighted to be asked to host and narrateThe Snowman Christmas Special.
"This is something way different from performing in Westlife for me, and I'm very excited about teaming up with the Irish Philharmonic Orchestra as well as all the other performers who will be involved.
"Who doesn't have very happy and vivid memories of watching and singing along toThe Snowman on TV as a kid every Christmas and already my own two little lads can't wait to come along and see it all happen live, especially with Daddy telling the story. There is huge excitement in our house I can tell you!
"This will be great fun and I cannot wait to try to bring something new to the show while also enjoying the magic of what is a wonderful story."
